Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with all skin types and tones?

Yes! I specialize in caring for all skin, with a special focus on melanin-rich skin. Because people of color (african descent, middle eastern, asian, hispanic, native american) can be more prone to reactivity, sensitivity, hyperpigmentation and scarring, I take extra care to choose the safest and most effective treatments

How often should I get a facial or peel?

Your plan will be specifically tailored to you.  The frequency depends on your skin care goals and treatment needs.

How long should my hair be before waxing?

For the best results, hair should be about ¼ inch long (around the length of a grain of rice). This allows the wax to grip properly for smoother results.

Does waxing hurt?

You may feel a quick sting when the hair is removed, but the discomfort usually passes quickly. Pain zones vary by the person - some feel more pain when waxing legs, others on underarms, etc.

Are there times I should avoid waxing?

Yes. If you’ve recently had a chemical peel, sunburn, or are using strong exfoliants (like Retin-A or Accutane), it’s best to wait until your skin has healed to avoid irritation and damage.

Will my skin be red or irritated afterward?

Some redness or sensitivity is normal and usually fades within a few hours. I’ll apply soothing products after your service to calm your skin.

Are lash enhancements safe for my natural lashes?

Yes! When applied correctly by a trained professional, lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes. I use safe adhesive and apply each extension with care.

Can I nap during my appointment?

Absolutely! Your appointment is all about you!  We can chat if you’d like, or you’re welcome to nap while I work—it’s totally up to you.
